OneRep works in the basement gym

Platform1 min read

Workouts, meals and check-ins now save locally and sync when you climb back into signal range, with an indicator that tells you the truth, instead of a spinner that promises nothing and delivers it.

Gyms have terrible reception. Basements, concrete, no windows: as though the architecture itself decided your phone had no business there, and honestly, fair. Until now, a dropped connection meant a set that didn't save, and there are few things in this life more quietly corrosive than retyping a workout you have already done. You did the work once. The software should not ask for it twice.

Offline by default

Everything you log (sets, meals, water, check-ins, notes) is written to your device first and sent up when signal returns. You can record an entire session in airplane mode and it will be on every one of your devices within seconds of surfacing. The basement is no longer an excuse. We've taken that from you. You're welcome.

Conflicts, handled honestly

If the same record changes on two devices while both are offline, OneRep keeps the newer edit and tells you it did. No silent overwrites. Software that quietly discards one version of events and hopes you won't notice: there's a word for that, and I've been on the receiving end of it in other contexts, and we're not building it here.

A sync state you can actually read

The header shows one of three states, and means every one of them:

  1. Synced: everything on this device has reached your account.
  2. Pending: some entries are still travelling, and you can see how many.
  3. Offline: no connection, and nothing is being lost. Note the second clause. The second clause is the feature.

This is groundwork as much as a release. Reliable local writes are the foundation the next round of training-screen work stands on; foundations being the part nobody applauds and everything depends on. So it goes.
