Coach now works from your goals, not just your last question

Coach1 min read

Coach reads the goal you set, the check-ins you logged and the last twelve weeks of your training before it says a word, so the advice belongs to the plan you're actually on, rather than to some theoretical person who asks good questions.

Athlete finishing a set of battle ropes

Coach used to answer the question in front of it. Ask "should I add volume this week?" and you'd get a reasonable, generic answer: the kind available anywhere, from anyone, for free, in unlimited quantity. Which is not why a person keeps a training log. A person keeps a training log so that someday, something will actually read it.

From this release, it does. Every Coach reply is built on the account you already have: the goal you set, the check-ins you logged, and the twelve weeks of sets sitting patiently behind them, waiting all this time to be consulted.

What changed

  • Goals are context. Set a goal in Progress and Coach treats it as the target for every recommendation it makes, recipes and workout drafts included. It stops advising a hypothetical you.
  • Check-ins carry weight. Soreness, sleep quality and body weight from the last two weeks feed the load and volume suggestions. The bad night of sleep you dutifully logged finally does something.
  • Trends over sessions. One rough Monday no longer moves the recommendation, because one rough Monday never meant anything. Coach reads the line, not the dot.

Try it

Open Coach and ask the kind of thing you'd ask a training partner who actually pays attention: "am I recovering well enough to push legs twice this week?" The answer now cites the check-ins it used, so you can see the reasoning, instead of extending faith to a machine, which no machine has earned and none ever will.

Coach remains part of the €4.99 subscription. Everything in OneRep Core is unchanged and still free.
